It’s so nice to work amongst smart, creative people who each have the autonomy to make a judgement call, fix something that’s not working or to attempt something we’ve not done before – that’s not unusual at Ph. at all. It’s not for everyone, but for people who love energetic collaboration, bouncing ideas, breaking outside of traditional ‘think’ and challenging conventions, Ph. Can be a lot of fun.

There’s a saying we use all the time, ‘Inch wide, mile deep’, it sounds weird huh? What we mean by this is we like to be super focused in a tiny niche area of expertise, but for as tiny as that niche may be, we mine for the gold way deeper than anyone else – That’s a secret of why we’re such a good team. We have niche experts owning different spaces within employer branding from creative direction and film making to copywriting and career website and technology development. Seeing this diversity of thought work together can be quite the inspirational experience.

We have another strategy called, ‘Moneyball’ strategy. It’s the idea that we assemble a diverse team of disparate experts to come together to produce unprecedented results (just like when the Oakland A’s changed baseball forever in 2002 by building a team based on statistics instead of the conventional baseball trading and hiring conventions).

For this account director role, we’re not necessarily looking for someone from an existing employer brand agency, we don’t particularly care how traditional employer brand agencies operate, we do things differently and we’re always learning from our client partners so it’s not necessarily an advantage.

What we do want is knowledge of what it’s like to build an employer brand from the inside of a corporate business. That would be some incredibly valuable experience we do not currently have inside of Ph. We’ve spent time empathy mapping our clients, really listening and designing our agency experience based on what we think our clients really want and need, but we can’t talk first hand from experience. Yet. Maybe that’s where you come in?
