From the 23rd to the 27th of June, two students from Abraham Guest High school, Lois Cox and Rhiannon Tompkins spent the week in the web design agency Ph.Creative.
They carried out their work experience at the Head office in Rodney Street to look at the different aspects of web design.
During this time they learnt how to design and create logos on Adobe Illustrator. They developed their IT skills by creating a database which was then used to create contacts. More importantly they developed key learning skills and the experience of working in the creative industry.
They commented: “Everyone was extremely friendly and very welcoming. We enjoyed our experience here and learnt about the various aspects included in web design. This experience has been very enlightening and we our very grateful to Ph.Creative for allowing us to participate within their company.”
They learnt many different skills during this process including, mail merge and the use of the program Adobe Illustrator. They thoroughly enjoyed this experience and are very interested in web designing and can hopefully continue in this career choice in the future.
