#18 Getting Your Brand Story Straight with Park Howell

Getting Your Brand Story Straight with Park HowellIn this episode of Getting Goosebumps: The Power of Storytelling, we join Park Howell’s The Power Of Story podcast in a very exciting simulcast!

Park is a blogger, storyteller, and award-winning entrepreneur as the CEO and founder of Park&Co, which he started back in 1995. Having always been driven to understand and harness the power of storytelling, his talks and workshops have inspired people to discover their own brand story.

Getting your brand story straight

Park tells us how figuring out your story is just like quitting smoking, admitting there’s a problem is the first step to recovery! Once you do that tough work and get under the skin of your customer it can be simple to work out what your story needs to be. So why are so many brands still getting it wrong?

The 4 stages of acceptance

Park talks about the most common 3 types of customers he’s come across and where they are on the road to acceptance that storytelling is the way to go. He tries to find what he calls ‘the evangelist’ in the company and then goes on from there to convince the non-believers.

Top tips to start creating your own stories

As part of his wealth of experience Park has taught so many people how to discover and share their own story in his presentations, talks and podcast.  Anyone will tell you that writing a story can be a long and lengthy process, especially if you’re not feeling inspired. Park lays out his process for getting the work done. As well as that he shares his top 3 tips for creating your story and the process that goes into it, to help you find out what your brand really stands for.
