Ph. Creative’s very own Paula Radcliffe will be running the Virgin London Marathon this year, raising money for the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation. Steve Smith, Creative Director, is running the 26 long, hard miles for the second time because he loved it so much last year, calling it ‘the best day of my life!’
Whilst some think him crazy, you can’t deny his enthusiasm and dedication having spent the past month training intensely. He estimates he runs between 40-45 miles a week and nobody in the office envies his lunch plate, which often resembles rabbit food.
The Virgin London Marathon, which takes place on 25th April 2010, is one of a series of marathons that Steve does in order to raise money for the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation. As the biggest cancer killer in the world, any money Steve does raise will go towards research, campaigning and education to ensure that the next generation aren't as affected as the last.
Seen as he ran the marathon last year, some may think that this time it’ll be a walk in the park but not being one to settle, Steve is hoping to push himself even further and smash his time of 3 hours 34 minutes.
As if that isn’t enough, Steve will be running the Snowdon Marathon in October and he one day aspires to run the New York Marathon.
