Potential entrepreneurs at Broadgreen International School have been given the opportunity to have their business ideas backed by a top Liverpool internet marketing company. Google Dave, Director at Ph. Creative, visited students and encouraged them to start thinking of an original business idea which they will present ‘Dragon’s Den’ style next week.
Google Dave said, “This is a great opportunity to work with the students and give them an Enterprise Day with a twist. I can’t wait to see what they come up with. Who knows, we could discover the next young entrepreneur.”
Dave Hazlehurst, nicknamed Google Dave due to his specialism in search engines, met with the students yesterday and used examples like Richard Branson and Duncan Bannatyne to offer inspiration. He advised the students to have the right attitude, to be passionate and to never give up. He recalled how Duncan Bannatyne started on the road to his £10billion fortune with an ice cream van and how James Dyson couldn’t get anyone to back his idea.
To start the creative ball rolling, Dave told the students to think of what they enjoy doing and what would make their lives easier. Students were also told to think about what the world would be like in the future and what might have been developed.
Following a series of workshops, students will have the chance to pitch their idea to a group of ‘dragons,’ made up of Liverpool’s most successful business brains. Ph. Creative will then back the lucky winner for a year and provide them with a website and online marketing plan, making their business idea a reality.
The day is aimed at developing entrepreneurial skills and offering students a real opportunity to take their idea forward.
This is the first year Ph. Creative has got involved with an Enterprise Day but they hope to work with many more schools around Liverpool.
